copying a database in 2007

I have a user who says she made a copy of a 2003 database and pasted it into
another folder with a different name. She opened that new database in Access
2007 and entered several records. She closed and saved the database but when
she reopened the new database, the new records were not there. Another person
opened the old file after she closed it but said the names were not in the
old file. This person is a very savvy user and searched her entire
computer/network drives for both the 2007 and 2003 file extensions but was
not able to find the new file with added records. The databases did not
contain linked files. They should have been two complete separate files. Any
suggestions?

Yup. Your user didn't put the file where she thought she did.
