file.doc not opening up

If I double click a word file it only opens up word but not the file. In the
Word window that opens up there is no document or blank document open. To get
the file open I have to click file/open and browse to the file and then it
opens. Anyone know why?

I've replaced her normal.dot file but makes no difference.

I found in another thread to re register word to solve most file open
problems. I had the user do a start run winword /r to see if re registering
word solves her problem. Unfortunately it didn't. I'm now doing a detect and
repair to see if that makes a difference but if anyone has any suggestions or
has seen this before any info would be greatly appreciated.

Problem solved. Her profile was corrupt in some way. Rebuilt her profile from
default and problem went away.
