file back-up generation

I have found hundreds of data files added to my
documents. Also hundreds of picture files. When I delete,
they simply back themselves up and replace. I do not
believe they are system related and I am more inclined to
think they might be virus generated. Any ideas???

What type of documents and graphic files? Hilite the lot of them, right click on the
hilit files and click Scan with "Your AV Prog".
