File duplication

I have run across hundreds of extra data files that I know nothing about. They are mixed with my own data files. When I attempt to delete them, they simply duplicate and restore themselves. One set is labeled TFTPxxxx and there are over 200 at this time. Another set is picture files and there are over 100 of these. There may be more.

Without specifics, the fact that they restore themselves hints that they
are necessary system files which XP will automatically regenerate.

Hi,

I have run across hundreds of extra data files that I know nothing about. They are mixed with my own data files. When I attempt to delete them, they simply duplicate and restore themselves. Try using disk cleanup and see if the files disappear.
Go to Start > Run and type cleanmgr.exe

If after this the file don't disappear, perform an online scan at any
one of the following:
Trend Micro HouseCall:

Panda Active Scan:

RAV AntiVirus Online Virus Scan

BitDefender Free Online Virus Scan

Good luck
