I have connected two machines (one XP Pro; the other
98SE) using a hub to which each computer is connected.
I've tried to set up Windows Networking file and printer
sharing via a common Workgroup name and using tcp/ip. I
have done this before (pre XP) with few problems.
However, in this case, neither machine can see the other.
When I attempt to browse the workgroup, only the local
machine is shown. I cannot figure out what I've done
wrong or failed to do. Help?
Additional Details:
XP Machine is set up with two network adapters, one
connected to an external cable modem (for Internet
access). The first adapter is bridged to the second one,
which, in turn, is connected to the ethernet hub.
The 98 machine is simply connected to the hub via its
single adapter.
Computer names (DDS03 and DDS01, respectively)
Workgroup HOME for each of these computers
User name dds on each machine.
Windows logon (no pw) on the 98 machine.
Logging in under dds on XP machine
Selective files (include Shared Documents folder) set for
sharing on each machine.
Several printers on 98 machine set for sharing.
Thanks,
