Feedback on bug reporting.

OK, having fun testing 5308, and I'm finding and reporting bugs ok now.
However, what happens after I've uploaded the bug report to MS? Should I be
receiving an email acknowledgement? How do I see the status of bugs that I'm
reporting? What's the process?

Your bugs should appear on http://connect.microsoft.com in short a while in
the Feedback section, sometimes issues might occurr and you won't appear
until 24 hours later. (This is for technical testers in Technical Beta
Program).

E-mails as of Connect 1.1 were starting to be distributed to testers
notifying them of the status of their Reports.

OK, thanks. Only problem is that I'm not on the technical beta, I have Vista
through my MSDN subscription. I don't see anything on my Connect page that
suggests how I get feedback. :(

I have the same problem.
I got vista from MSDN at work. I allready have to ask the person who's
managing the MSDN account for the download. Would be intresting to have the
vista added to my connect account.

For non-technical beta testers, there isn't anyway to track the bug that
you have submitted. Howevr, do keep them posted, since MS does read and
work on every bug report that they receive.

That's at least good to know. However (if you're listening MS) it would be
nice to at least get confirmation that you have received the bug report if
nothing else.

If you can get access to the Microsoft BETA Client, you should be able to
send in reports anonymously. Like Jabez said, there is no reporting system
implemented for persons outside the BETA program.

There is no problem getting access to the Bets Client, it's downloadable via
a link from the Feedback icon on the Vista desktop, and I've quite happily
submitted a couple of bugs, and included my main email address. They also
have my passport address. Would just be nice it I at least got a
confirmation email about the bugs I'm submitting.

Microsoft has said that if you submit bug reports anonymously, the bugs
should be anonymous and there will be no way to track down the user who
submitted it (although you may have added your passport email in the last
page of the beta client).

Thanks, but if you read what I said you'll notice that I'm not submitting
them anonymously. MS will have both my mail email address and my Passport
address.
