fbreseal

Hello everybody,

I am using fbreseal to reseal XPE installation, so that subsequent clones
get different computer name / SID. As I see, the generated computer name is
in the form OEM-xyz.
Is there anyway to influence some part of this generated name (such as
having my own prefix instead of OEM)?

In Target Designer, under the Computer Component for your configuration, a
computer name can be set. Make it short about 8 characters, and the system
cloning tool should just add on a random number.

Hi Sasa,

If you don't wnat to rebuild your image or don't want to add on a random
number, you can use the fbreseal command "-keepall" in order to keep all the
settings.

Thank you for your answer.
I'm not quite sure what do you mean by "Computer component" for my
configuration. I haven't been able to find such component, nor did I find
anything in "Settings" section for my configuration.

Components under the computer catagory. There are the HAL components, and
you can only have one in a configuration.

ACPI Uniprocessor PC
Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) PC
MPS Multiprocessor PC

etc...
