Install driver which hasn't pass Windows logo on XPE

Hello,

I am trying to install driver for the printer on my XPE installation.
The driver installs fine on XP Pro, during the installation on XP Pro
I get the warning that it hasn't pass windows logo testing and I must
click on "Continue Anyway" button.

On XPE this dialog isn't displayed during installation. Instead I
simply receive the error "Printer driver was not installed. Operation
could not be completed."
I am suspecting that it might be related to the windows logo testing
notification, since I can reproduce the same dialog box in XP Pro if I
click "stop" instead of "continue anyway" on the warning dialog.

I tried to set the HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Driver Signing\Policy to 0
but this didn't help.

There is no "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Error Message
Instrument" key, so I'm assuming that message boxes are not suppressed
(after all, I get the error message box that driver was not
installed).

Do you have any ideas?

In the target designer I included "local printing support" macro
component. Is maybe something else needed?

Thanks in advance

Best regards,
Sasa

First did you enable the help system in your image? In the Settings for the
configuration under "Other Settings", uncheck "Do not copy help files for
this configuration".

Thank you for your assistance. That was one piece of the puzzle, in
addition two additional components had to be included. It seems that
it is not related to "windows logo testing" after all, but I'm not
sure yet, since in the meantime I found the signed and tested driver.

On a side note - allow me to compliment you for your book (XPE
Advanced). You did great work there, and it's great help for an XPE
novice such as myself.

For the record, what were the other two missing components?

I am glad you like the book. FYI - My websites have other information and
books on Windows Embedded.
