FBA phase 12000+

Hello all,

I listened in on the XP Embedded support chat yesterday for a bit, and
when I asked if there were any plans out there to fix the problems with
FBA phases > 12000 the response from Microsoft was 'I am not aware of
any problems in that area'. They posted a link to report bugs, but
for some strange reason it was not in the chat log after the chat
ended.

So,
1) Am I wrong in my understanding that a FBA Generic command with a
phase > 12000 will run before resealing even though the documentation
says otherwise

2) Should I Report this formally to MS? If so, where. (I am quite
surprised if this hasn't been reported.)

Thanks All.

1) No, that is my understanding, too. My original reading of the docs led
me to think that FBA phase 12000+ would run post-reseal. That is not true.
I haven't read the docs again to see if it was my mis-understanding or not.

2) We have some top-tier support and a MS liason. So, I report problems
through our liason. If you get their attention, MS can be very responsive
and very helpful. But, I don't know what other official ways there are to
report problems.

For post-FBA commands, you need to invent your own mechanism. I use an an
auto login and special user account to automate post-FBA commands. The
batch file runs when any user logs in, and if the user is the 'special'
account, I check for post-FBA markers and do special stuff, then remove the
auto login, commit and restart.

Mark,

Thanks for your reply. I was just checking in because the chat
response didn't jive with what I've heard here.

Currently I am using a .reg file to setup a run-once command to occur
after reseal. I manually merge the .reg file as part of my pre-reseal
procedure. Kinda clunky, but... there ya go.

P.S. - gotta love that Ben Franklin quote. Be Happy!
