fax question

I have XP home edition

For years I have been using WinFax Pro 10.0 and all of a sudden it is
messing up Outlook. Now I could spend the money and get a newer version,
but for the amount of faxing I do, it's not worth it. Besides the fax
service with XP is free.

I have a network set up in my house where each of the computers can share
printers. Can i network the faxes so the upstairs computer can use the
downstairs computer to dial out.

Thanks for any help

The fax works from the printer options / print to fax. If all the computers
can print from the printer , then they should be able to fax from the
printer also . I can factually say ... I guess so. lol Jym

No. You cannot share the fax facilities on a workstation OS (and, before you
ask, XP Pro is a workstation OS, too). Shared Fax is a feature of Windows
2000 Server and Windows 2003 Server (and their various flavours) only.

Thought so. Oh well, I can always put another modem in the computer and use
the upstairs jack for dialing out.

THANKS
