Favorite folders pane

Has anyone figured out how to turn off or disable that annoying favorite
folders pane? MS indicates that it cannot be deleted. I have not figured
out how to keep my inbox, sent and other folders from cluttering my desktop
further by duplicating their appearance in the favorite folders pane.

You cannot turn it off for the Mail Navigation. Switch to the Folder List
Navigation for the classic Folder List.

Thanks, Robert. I went to Go, then Folder List and it is now gone. All I
want is a simple email client...
