Faulty word pad

Hi,

For some weird reason whenever I open a wordpad document it comes out with
black lines all throughout the words and even the content is different (I
checked on a friend's computer). I don't understand what's wrong with my
computer, why can't I open word files and have them come out the way they
should?

If you are trying to open Microsoft Office Word documents with Wordpad,
you may have problems because of the formatting. Word is a
full-featured word processor. Wordpad is a text editor with some
formatting abilities, but nothing compared to MS Word. Is this what you
are trying to do? If you are trying to read .doc files, you need to
have MS Word installed on your computer or another word processing
program that can read MS Word files such as Corel Word Perfect, Sun's
Star Office, or OpenOffice Writer.
