Fatal Error

Dr D

I have a PC w/XP Pro that, on boot up, displays the error:

Stop: c000021a [fatal system error]
the windows logon process system process terminated
unexpectedly with status of 0xc0000005(0x0000000 0x0000000)
the system has been shut down

This occurs on normal start up as well as safe mode with
network support. Safe mode(w/o network support) starts up
fine. Login is administrator in safe mode. The PC(Dell
4550)has been working correctly for months until this
morning. I believe the updates are current. No changes
have been made to this PC recently. Will repair fix it or
is there another way?

Thanks,
Dr D
