Fast user switching drops internet connection

Fast user switching is enabled on my Win XP system. However when I switch
from one user to another the dialup internet connection is dropped. How do I
configure XP to keep the connection active when switching users?

This allows to keep RAS Connections when switching or
logoff

Run REGEDIT and navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

Then right-click the right-hand pane, select New -> String
Value, name the value KeepRasConnections and set it to 1.
