Yes i will try that! But on the other hand, why just this installation and
not the other windows xp machines? They have the same anti virus software.

Hi,

It is usually quite difficult to predict the intervention effect of
protection software. I have seen many cases that Norton script blocking or
firewall software causes installation failure of VS.Net and .Net Framework.
On the other hand, most of the users install the products well, even with
Norton protection software turned on.

I think it worth trying that we install the Framework with the protection
software turned off:

In addition, could you think of anything special with this particular
machine, e.g. any third-party software that is not available on other
machine?
