What makes you think that Frisk & company aren't working on these
things?

Nooooh, I hope they'll leave the nineties style and not go to this stupid
xp/web style that has become so popular. If I want to see a webpage, I'll
start my browser.

It is still getting engine updates and, of course, the defs but
nothing else.

As far as I can tell from the /looks/ of it, the user interface of the
Dos/command line scanner hasn't changed in a decade. I guess even the exit
codes are the same (unfortunately?).

Well, except for some additional options that is.

Actually the user interface of version 3.x is somewhat, but not
fundamentally, different from that of version 2.x. That's a good thing.
The user interface is clear.

Indeed!

The old DOS "GUI" was more than adequate IMO (if you prefer a UI over
cmdline).. norton is living proof how much that crappy eye-candy interface
can bloat an app (amongst other stuff).
