Extension CLSID Verification Host has stopped working

Starting yesterday, whenever I click on a link on my computer, weather on the
desktop, start menu or shortcut bar, I get the error "Extension CLSID
Verification Host has stopped working" and the program I was trying to start
does not work. I have not installed any new software and have my anti virus
and spyware up to date.

Anyone know what this is and how to fix it?

Thanks!

Do you have the QTTabBar? (http://qttabbar.wikidot.com/qttabbar)

If so, have a look at these threads;

That's all I could really come up with at the moment.

And the message you're responding to at TechArena is so old (Jan 17, 2008)
that it does not appear on Microsoft's news servers, or most other real news
servers. So, without logging on to TechArena, which few of us are likely to
do, we have no idea what you're talking about. Why don't you start over and
tell your own story, referring to this Google Groups link if you really
think you can't explain it as well as the other(s) did.

That's probably not a good plan. The thing that you say is crashing is
designed to prevent you from using bad software that would lead to worse
crashes.

What extension specifically isn't working? Have you talked to the
developers of that extension to ask them to fix their extension?

The "verification host" is used to host untrusted extensions. It itself is
not a problem: it's just isolating out things that *can* be problems so that
rogue software doesn't cripple your system.
