EXPORTING CONTACTS

I was recently switched to a new ISP (Comcast). I'm trying to figure out a
way to copy my contact list from Windows Mail to the Comcast Webmail site.
They have some help screens for moving it from Outlook Express by exporting
the Address Book. I'm not seeing any options in Windows Mail to export
contacts via a .cvs file. Is there a way to do it?

You HAVE looked at the Windows Mail Addressbook, haven't you? (The button on
the toolbar called "EXPORT" might be a clue...)

Actually there is no Windows Mail Address book - it's labeled Contacts.
Beyond that, there is no button on the Contacts toolbar (or elsewhere within
Windows Mail) labeled "EXPORT". So at this point I don't have a clue. Any
other ideas?

In Windows Mail, click on Tools, then Windows Contacts. In the empty
space at the right side of this new window, right click, then click on
Customize This Folder, then the triangle, then Contacts, then Apply, then
OK, then close the Contacts Window and open it again. See if Export
now appears on its toolbar.

Thanks, but that didn't help.

After opening Contacts, when I right-click in the empty area to the right of
the toolbar, there is NO option to customize. The only choices on the
Contacts tool bar are File - Edit - View - Tools - Help. The only options
when I right-click the right end of the Contacts tool bar are Google - Show
Norton Toolbar - Lock the Toolbar.

Also when I open Contacts, it displays as an Explorer folder. Don't know if
it matters, but to organize my contacts so I don't have to look at every one
of them when choosing addresses, I've put them into sub-folders - e.g.
archive, business, pix, personal, etc. I wonder if the Contacts file/folder
has to be in a specific location.

Having recently helped a buddy to set up his Vista Mail & Contacts, I
realize there are additional items on his Contacts toolbar that I don't
have - including Import & Export. His setup is similar to mine.

I wonder if it's time to remove/re-install Mail.

There isn't an Export item under File on either Windows Mail or Contacts.
Wish there was.

What about using "File" the "Export" and then choosing "cvs"?

you're not clicking on the right spot... keep trying. Don't click on a
Contact first.

another way is to click on Organize - Properties - Customize
in the pull-down box, select Contacts
Ok

Don't right-click ON the toolbar.
Right-click somewhere in that vast empty white space below it.

Windows Mail is part of Vista and very hard to uninstall or reinstall
without doing the same to the rest of Vista.

Try again, but this time, instead of right clicking on the toolbar,
right click on the larger empty space below the toolbar.

I can get to the 'Customize' tab, but those steps don't reveal the options
to add/remove tool bar items. ___________________________________________

SUCCESS! (from your previous post).
I suspect I have some instability in my system (O/S perhaps?). I tried your
suggestion below 4 times before it worked. And for some reason, while it
'saved' the option to Contacts, it sometimes jumps back to Documents and all
of the Contacts options no longer display - until I put it back.

In any event, I've exported the address book, and this thread is at a
successful conclusion.
My thanks to those who offered help.

It's on the toolbar in Windows Contacts

When you get to the Customize tab click the down arrow for templates and
choose Contacts.
