Export PPT to a different format?

Hi, I created a PPT file that has become too cumbersome and really wasn't
suitable for PowerPoint in the first place, as it will be printed. I need to
export to a different format - Word or Publisher would be good. But when I
exported to Word, it looked like the slides became objects, and it looked
difficult to edit.

Is there any way I can get the content of the slides to become regular pages
in Word or Publisher? (I've never used Publisher, but I don't see any option
to export the file there).

Thanks,
Karen

If you put the text in placeholders on your slides, you should be able to
send the outline to Word and get closer to what you want. Another option is
to save all the text in the file as a text file. The easiest way to do this
is with VBA, especially since the FAQ has an entry that tells you how:
Export Text to a text file, extract text from PowerPoint (Mac or PC)

Hi Karen,

I just saw and replied to this in Public.Office.Misc

Check that out and then we can follow up there or here, whichever you prefer.

Karen,
Now, that is a fun challenge. You want to use some VBA? I didn't think
so. Then no native way I know of to do this without VBA. Execpt
manually page by page.

What's the issue in not printing in PPT vs. Word? I don't even know
how to spell Publicker.

Thank you SO much, Kathy, Steve and Brian for all the support - I have no
idea yet what VBA is :), but I will play around with the suggestions made and
let you know how it goes!

(As you can tell, I have limited experience with Office beyond the basics).

Best,
Karen

Ok, I looked at the VBA code, yikes :). I'm pretty good at following
directions and using common sense, but is this straightforward enough for a
novice without programming experience?

Thanks again,
Karen

Success! I ran the macro on a test file and it worked beautifully! Now to
start from scratch formatting the text, but it'll be much easier in Word.
Thanks again, everyone!
