Explorer Thumbnails - how do I view them bigger?

L

Laura

Hi, our scanner sends a scanned image to a file in explorer. When I
go into explorer and into the folder and choose the thumbnail view of
my folders I find the thumbnails are too small for me to see with any
clarity, is there a way of making them bigger and clearer??

We have just found a free download on the internet called TweakUI, we
are thinking this may do the trick, does anyone have any experience of
this??

Yours hopefully

TweakUI
[+] Explorer | Thumbnails |
Thumbnail
Size (pixels):

Thumbnails
[[The image quality slider control sets the fidelity of the thumbnail
images. Higher quality thumbnails require more memory and disk space. This
is a per-user setting. This setting applies only to the new thumbnails.
Previously created thumbnails retain their original quality setting.]]

A note about TweakUI and thumbnail size.

"Keep in mind that higher quality and larger thumbnails require more disk
space, which is not usually a problem, but they also take longer to display.
Changing the quality does not affect thumbnails that already exist on the
file system."

How do I alter the default size and quality of thumbnail images?

TweakUI will work as mentioned, but you can also use the Film Strip view
to see a larger image of each picture with thumbnails displayed in a row
below.

I recollect you don't want to go beyond a certain size. I am not on XP
right now so I can't check, but I think it was 192?

Hi Rock and Wesley, Tweak UI worked a treat, I am not sure how the
film strip works, so have yet to try that, let me know where to look
for it and I will give it a go :)

Click View, Filmstrip. If that isn't an option, right-click the folder,
click "Properties", "Customize" tab, under "Use this folder type as a
template", select "Photo Album".

Open a pictures folder | Click View | Click Filmstrip

Or open a pictures folder | Right click a blank spot | Click View | Click
Filmstrip

You can view your pictures as a filmstrip in any My Pictures subfolder or
any folder customized as a pictures folder.

Filmstrip view is available in picture folders. Your pictures appear in a
single row of thumbnail images. You can scroll through your pictures using
the left and right arrow buttons. If you click a picture, it is displayed as
a larger image above the other pictures. To edit, print, or save the image
to another folder, double-click the picture.

Open folder | Click View | Customize This Folder | Select Pictures or Photo
Album
