Explorer.exe command-line option: "search for files"?

I've done only a tiny amount of work modifying the command line options
for Explorer.exe. I have a specific need here... I need to create a
shortcut that will make Explorer.exe open up a specific directory --
and here is the key: open it with the "search for files or folders" bar
activated on the left side. There must be some command line option to
specify this.

I'm using Windows 2000 Professional. Copious thanks to whoever can help
me.

Try this and see if it does what you want.

1. Open a search window.
2. Enter the desired folder name in the "Look in" box. Leave the "Search
for files or folders named" box blank.
3. Click the "Search Now" button.
4. If this is a lengthy search, click the "Stop Search" button.
5. On the menu bar, click File, then Save Search.
6. Enter an appropriate filename and location, then click Save. This
creates a file with the .fnd extension.
7. Create a shortcut to the .fnd file wherever you need it.

That worked great. Thank you very much.
