Explorer.exe - Application error

i have winxp pro with sp2 on my
system...................this is my stand-alone home pc &
im not connected to any network nor do i have any sort of
internet or network connection...................

now for the last couple of days i keep getting the
following error whenever i try to open windows explorer

" Explorer.exe - Application error The aplication failed
to intialize (0xc0000006).
click OK to terminate the application."

how do i resolve this. please help.

You can run the system file checker tool which will
replace corrupt or missing system files. Click the start,
run, and type in; sfc /scannow with that space there. And
it may ask for your XP CD. Also it is possible some of
your RAM memory may have become faulty, so run a test on
that using a utility.

Have you done a thorough scan for malware using a a recent and up to
date AV program, several online AV scans, and a combination of spwyare
checking programs?
