Explorer crashes, xp gui blinks and restarts when browsing files with Explorer

This one is driving me nuts, I'd be most appreciative if
someone could help. I have upgraded all drivers, etc. on
Win XP Pro.

When I am going through some large folders (that contain
folders), explorer consistently crashes, seems to restart
the shell, and some of the items running in the sys tray
do not return.

Sometimes I get an error about explorer having a C++ run
time error, but not always.

Any ideas? Norton Anti-Virus is up to date too and I
run full PC scans weekly.

Hey,

I too have this problem and the solution as of now is to
run your folder windows in a separate process (In Windows
Explorer, go to Tools-->Folder Options - View Tab -->
Check the "Launch folder windows in a separate process"
and you should be all set. I wish MS would acknowledge
there is a problem with XP SP1 because I have only had
this problem since SP1 as have many others, but for now,
this is the only true-fix I have found on the Internet.

Cheers!
Drew
