Explorer closed by Antispy

Here is a minor but extremely annoying problem with
Windows 2000.

Everytime the AntiSpy software sees ANYTHING it does not
like, then it lets me know. Well and good.

However, when I tell it to block the offending program,
then it shuts down my Internet Explorer. Considering the
amount of time that I spend online, it has gotten to where
I spend more time reopening explorer and getting back to
where I was than I do actually performing productive
functions. I get back to work only to find that Antispy
has found another reason to close explorer. About half
the time, it tells me that I must restart the machine.

I have no doubt that it is protecting me, but does it
really have to close explorer EVERY time it blocks
anything and then demand a restart? The trouble is
killing my day.

Is IE open when you're scanning ? Strongly suggest you close IE during
any scanning as files in use by it are much harder to remove.
In every spyware forum *closing* IE prior to scanning the system is the
preferred method. The latest version of CWShredder will close IE prior
to any scan of the system.

I'm curious about the nature of the alerts that you are seeing so
frequently?
