When windows from a common application are grouped on the
taskbar, is there a way to ungroup them?

Here's an example.
With the resolution and screen size I have I can fit five
items on the taskbar without XP attempting to group any
windows. But, when I open a sixth window, XP goes into
group mode. Then, when I close a window, so that I only
have five again, XP doesn't ungroup my windows (the five I
have left).

Is there any way to force XP to ungroup windows?

Hi,

Undo the grouping option in the Taskbar and Start Menu properties.
