.EXE files wont open, please help!

When i boot the computer, at the splash screen, a window pops up with
few symbols and an ok button. I have to push it or it wont continue t
load. On the desktop, none of the exe files are useable, when clicked
i get "Windows cannot open this file." luckily i can still access th
internet, and checked out this sit

files, and when i rebooted everythign worked for about 2 minutes, the
all the icons went back to the un-usable state. nothing in the star
menu works either. I tried system restore, and it still didnt work. an
ideas?

You have a virus/Trojan. Download Ad-Aware from http://lavasoftusa.com and
run it in Safe mode. If that doesn't expose the culprit, likewise use an
antivirus scanner, for example AVG from http://free.grisoft.com

Once you've identified the Trojan DON'T be temtped to 'shoot first, ask
questions later' - Instead look up its properties and see if removing it
incorrectly might cause further trouble. If possible download a removal-tool
specifically for that Trojan.
