Excel won't open when editing powerpoint graph

Hi. I am working on excel 2007 and powerpoint 2007. When I try edit a graph
in powerpoint excel doesn't open. I can see the service(excel.exe) starts but
the actual program doesn't open. Any ideas anyone?

I, too have this problem with Office 2007 (any SP) running under Windows XP
SP2. Did you ever find a solution other than copying and pasting back and
forth between Excel and PowerPoint?
