you need the Excel program to open it, not much else you can do...EXCEPT...
you could have the person who created the Excel file save it as a HTML web
page and then you could open it with your browser.....
Good Luck,

Don't know how you thought you downloaded Office from the MS site. It is not
available for download.

You can order a 30-day Trial copy of Office 2003 on CD from

http://www.microsoft.com/office/editions/prodinfo/trial.mspx

Alternatives..........

Perhaps the person who sent the email could save the file in a works format
and send that on.

You can open the file for just viewing or printing with the Excel Viewer that
is downloadable from:

http://office.microsoft.com/downloads/2000/xlviewer.aspx

It's a fair size download (3.8 MB)

Or you can get OpenOffice that will allow you to work on the file:

http://download.openoffice.org/1.1.1/index.html

That's a 63.5 MB download.
