Excel hanging.

I am having a problem with one of our laptops running XP.
It has Office 2000 on it, and it hangs constantly giving
the following error in event viewer.
Description:
Hanging application EXCEL.EXE, version 9.0.0.2719, hang
module hungapp, version 0.0.0.0, hang address 0x00000000.

ANyone got any ideas ?
