Excel hanging up

I have a small spreadsheet columns through M and rows = 52 and it's about 1MB
in size. When I highlight an entire row and click on delete, to delete the
whole row, Excel hangs up and if I hit ctrl alt del it says that Excel is not
responding. I've also tried to copy and past the spreadsheet into a new
spreadsheet and it does the same thing.

What could be the problem? Is there a way to fix a corrupt file? I think
maybe that's the problem.

There isn't any weird calculations or anything either.

Thank you for your help!

I think you might have a "last cell" problem.
Open your spreadsheet and when it is open press "Ctrl" and "End". The cursor
will now move to the "last cell". If I am right the cursor is now far away
from where you have any data. To resolve this you need to delete the empty
area by deleting empty columns up to the "last cell" and the same for rows.

no, it only goes to column M and about the 59th row. It's a small file.

any more suggestions?
