Excel footer to look like Word footer?

Exce 2000 and 2003. Trying to customize Excel footer to look like Word
footer - i.e. \\NAS2\Departments$\PerfImp\PerfImprovement\Admin & Staff\Staff
Meetings\Meet Outcomes, last revised by smithaa on 6/2/08 (all on one line).

I've played around with Left, Center and Right, but the sections overwrite
onto the next section. Does anyone have any ideas on how to format? I don't
have rights to download any add-ins.

TIA,

Put all that into the Left Footer, and so long as there is nothing in the
Center or Right Footer, the text should go straight across the page.

Yes, that does work (I remembered to put && for the & text). However, it is
impossible to access the footer to change any of the file names/dates.

Why is it impossible to access the footer to make changes?

Ahh - I was trying to change it in the footer - and should have used Custom
Footer.

Thanks, Gord.
