Excel and Vista Ultimate

When I attempt to load Excel (I used it this morning and it worked fine!) I
just get a blue screen, no Windows Round Icon in the corner, a title bar with
only the zoom information at the right... NO Excel Spreadsheet loads... it
just looks like the Excel desktop loads... but there are no clickable
ANYTHINGS for me to use to find/use ANYTHING except the zoom in-out (which
doesn't work!)

HELP! I have clients coming in tomorrow morning and I must have this FIXED
PRONTO! :-(

Several posts say to close all Explorer windows and then start excel. Do
not start by double clicking on a file.
Try launching by finding the excel.exe file and double clicking on it
directly - the same posts say that starting from a shortcut can cause the
problem.

Another possibility is a corrupt XLB file. It is a hidden file in
c:\documents and settings. Find and delete it. Excel will create a new one.

Lastly, try changing your screen resolution.
