Trouble Opening MS Excel 2007

Something weird sometimes happens when I try to open MS Excel 2007. When I
open Excel, the program opens, but it seems like it opens above my laptop
screen. The status bar, with the Cell Mode, Macro Record, Zoom Slide, etc.,
appears at the very top of my screen when I run the program. I see the
program openning on the status bar, and it appears to completely open, but I
can not get to anything above the status bar, because it is not on the
screen, but appears to be above it. This happens when I open it from a
tmeplate or when I open it from the start menu.
The only thing that I can do is go to the Windows taskbar, right click on
the Excel window and select close. It will ask me if I would like to save my
work, I select no, and it closes. This happens close to half of the times
that I open Excel. When it happens, I have to open and close Excel 2 or 3
times, and it will eventually seem to open correctly.
This does not happen to any other programs that I use. Could anyone help on

I allso have a weird problem with my MS Excel 2007 installation.
If I try to key in a number that starts with 4 or 5 it will not enter.
I have to enter any other number first, then press backspace and then I can
type 4 and 5.

I have tried to find what the program does instead, and it seams to make a
"Find Next" operation, where it search after a blank cell.

This is a 100000% weird problem, and if I didn't had this problem my self, I
would think this is a joke. I'm getting very frustrated about this problem.

I started using Vista/MS Office 2007 last March when I bought a new laptop.
I guess I am still getting used to it, but I certainly am not too impressed.
There are other little weird things that happen sometimes, and a lot
conveniences that Office 2003 had that are gone. Excel and Outlook 2007 seem
a lot slower than 2003, even though I have a new computer that I packed full
of RAM. It also seems like I am always see that evil circle spinning and a
message telling me that my progam is not responding. Sorry for venting.
