Excel 97 Hang/Not responding

Hi,

I'm using Microsoft Office 97 in Windows XP Professional.
Whenever i open an excel file or excel program itself, it
will just hang/not responding.
i used to reinstall the office 97, but the problem still
exist.
Please advise...
