Excel 2 digit year

We have csv files that carry the dates as 4/25/32 for example, and we are
finding that when opened in excel the date is formatted as 4/25/1932. I
found information to change the date range in the regional settings of the
control panel and have done so. It works for when I type 4/25/32 into excel,
it is changed to 4/25/2032, but still opening these files changes it to
2/25/1932. IS there a solution or bug in this? thank you.

Hi icccapital,

This is a good demonstration of why dates should always be stored with 4-digit years where the correct interpretation of a 2-digit
year isn't obvious. Excel has no way of knowing for sure which century applies to a given 2-diigit year, so it makes some
assumptions.
