excel date problem

Excel sheet description :


date shift production manpower used
1-may-2014 A 12 T 62
1-may-2014 B 12 T 62
1-may-2014 C 12 T 62

PROBLEM STATEMENT :

we have different description for weeks.

week 1 : 1st to 7th
week 2 : 8th to 14th
week 3 : 15 to 21st
week 4 : 22nd to 30th or 31st

I want to filter the production using formula so that I get the production against week. If the month and year is not taken into account, it will be a help as the formula shouldn't be changed with change of month.

I would develop a macro tied to a drop down with 1,2,3,4 that would set the start and end dates and filter.

don ! I have no idea about macro... this is something which is marked next in my calendar . any other viable solution for the layman.
