I have played EQ for 3 years now and until August I have
had zero problems. I can get into game and play about 10
minutes before I get a "YOU HAVE BEEN DISCONNECTED" and
if I don't get that I get a slammed to desktop and game
gone situation. The lag in the game is so bad that I
can't even play when I am able to even get back in. This
has been an every day problem nore for a month. I talked
to EQ tech dozens of times and I have finally reformatted
and reinstalled EQ. I had 1 day of no problems and on day
2 back to the problems again. I don't see how or what
could be causing this. I have far beyond the recommended
needs to play this online game. I have noticed in game
that alot of people with windows XP are having the same
problems. Any suggestions?

Hello Jeanna;

Can you please provide more details about how your computer connects
to the internet? Are you on a dial up modem connection, or a
broadband connection? Are you directly connected to the internet, or
are you a connection sharing device? This sounds like it is either a
connection issue, or a problem with something running in the
background that is not compatible with EverQuest. Before you launch
the game I would recommend right clicking on as many of the small
icons next to the clock and telling them to exit. If you have a virus
scanner disable it's real time scanning feature. Also, make sure as
many applications as possible are closed before you launch the game.

Thank you for choosing Microsoft products.
