EventID 64

I run W2K Pro on a home PC (not workstation, part of a network or
Windows server system) and I recently started getting the EvenetID 64
error: Because of repeated network problems, the time service has not
been able to find a domain controller to synchronize with for a long
time. To reduce network traffic, the time service will wait 960 minutes
before trying again. No synchronization will take place during this
interval, even if network connectivity is restored. Accumulated time
errors may cause certain network operations to fail. To tell the time
service that network connectivity has been restored and that it should
resynchronize, execute "w32tm /s" from the command line.

When I run the suggested command "w32tm /s", it gives a "returned 0/0"
message. What's this all about, and why did I recently start getting
this error message?

if you're not part of a network then you could try disabling the windows
time service

Start
Run
type
services.msc
click OK

<Services opens>

Navigate to Windows Time

double click on it and set startup type to disabled and stop the
service.
