Event Viewer (in computer management) not working properly with XP

I am trying to clear the event log on a target device and when I expand
event viewer -> right click on Application, security, or system -> and when
I click clear all events, I get a save application as dialog that pops up.

All other Event viewer functions (save log file as, new log view, etc.)
appear to work as expected. I am including my event log component in my
build.
Thanks for any help, not really sure how to go about troubleshooting this.

I was actually able to solve this issue by configuring the MessageBox Default
Reply options in Target Designer. Yeh!
