Event ID 7026

Whenever I startup windows I get an error in Event Viewer referring to Event
ID 7026. It states that the following system-start drivers failed to load
hptpro
IntelIde
File Name: netevent.dll
Type: Error
Symbolic Name: Event_Boot_System_Driver(s)_Failed
Message: The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load %1.

What is this and how can I correct it? I've tried the suggestion at
www.kellys-korner.com to no avail, did the sfc /scannow but I still keep
getting this error in the Event Viewer. Please help.

It is infinitely better to copy not paraphrase Error Reports here.

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Double click the button and close Event
Viewer. Now start your message(email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. This will paste the info from the Event Viewer Error Report
complete with links into the message. Make sure this is the first paste
after exiting from Event Viewer.

It would help if you would copy the Error reports to confirm that my
interpretation of the original is correct.

Go to Start, Control Panel, Folder Options, View, Advanced Settings and
verify that the box before "Show hidden files and folders" is checked
and "Hide protected operating system files " is unchecked. You may need
to scroll down to see the second item. You should also make certain that
the box before "Hide extensions for known file types" is not checked.
Next in Windows Explorer make sure View, Details is selected and then
select View, Choose Details and check before Name, Type, Total Size, and
Free Space.

hptpro =hptro.sys. Itis a driver for your High Point Tech RAID
controller. The original driver "broke" System Restore and it is
possible that someone has either renamed the file on your system. or
removed it. Use Windows Explorer to search My Computer for "hptpro.*"
without the quotes and advise what you find, include the full file name
with file extension and version. The Error Report may be caused by an
orphaned registry entry.

Intellide is most likely a typing error by you. It is likely to be
intelide.sys. Please advise whether you have installed the Windows XP
SP1 and SP2 updates? If not why not?

netevent.dll may need more research than I have so far been able to do.
Do you or did you have Dallas buttons installed?

Hope this helps.

While waiting for a reply from someone, I found that by rolling back the driver for the Intelide.sys worked. Hptpro I found stands for High Point Filter Driver, since I don't use Raid or have a SCSI drive would it be fair to say that I can delete the hptpro driver from C:\Windows\system32\drivers folder? I'm still receiving the error for hptpro but not IntelIde.

I looked in Properties for hptpro.sys and found the following info

Company: HighPoint Technologies Inc.
File Version 1.23.12.10
Internal Name: hptpro.sys
Language: English
Original File Name: hptpro.sys
Product Name: HighPoint Filter Driver
Product Version: v.1.23

In regards to paraphrasing I have never been told that this was incorrect to
do at this forum. I'm copying just as error message appears.

Product: Windows Operating System
Event ID: 7026
Source: Service Control Manager
Version: 5.0
Component: System Event Log
Symbolic Name: EVENT_BOOT_SYSTEM_DRIVERS_FAILED
Message: The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:
%1

Before deleting any file it is best to seek an explanation for it's
presence and to consider the safest way to remove it.

Was the computer new when it was bought? Are you fully aware of all the
hardware making up your computer?

This freeware programme is excellent for getting information about your
computer:
Everest Home Edition (freeware)
http://www.lavalys.hu/index.php

Tip: To copy select Report, Quick Report, Plain Text, highlight required
text, right click and select copy.

Simply deleting a file not knowing how it got there ignores the probable
existence of other files coming from the same source making their
removal more problematic. You can create a real problem where none
previously existed. Always proceed with caution.

Many offering advice do not place the emphasis on copying Event Viewer
log reports I do. In this case you omitted the Source, which can be
helpful to pinning down the exact version of the particular Event ID
being generated. However, in your case by paraphrasing you have given
information not in the copy you posted. Can you explain where you got
these details? I have ideas but it would help to hear it from you. Can
you please copy that source.
