In looking at the event log, I noticed that I am getting alot of:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: DCOM
Event Category: None
Event ID: 10016
Date: 10/26/2009
Time: 6:21:58 PM
User: NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE
Computer: VPT-NOTEBOOK
Description:
The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation
permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
{BA126AD1-2166-11D1-B1D0-00805FC1270E}
to the user NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE SID (S-1-5-20). This security
permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Any suggestions as to how to fix this????

Have you tried clicking on the link to see whether it gives step by step
guidance?

The error message itself does tell you, in a broad way, what you need to
do--Start, all programs, administrative tools, component services.

However I can't give you a step by step from there--you need to find the COM
application with that CLSID and then make the menu choices to grant the SID
noted Local Activation permission. This is pretty easy to do once you are
in the right place.

These groups are for the support of Windows Defender.

This question doesn't relate to Windows Defender at all--it is more of a
general question about Windows--so the General group for whichever Windows
version you are running would be a more appropriate place for this question.
