Event 490 in ESENT App Log

One of my XP systems came up slow this morning and I noticed an odd error in
the Application log:

Type: Error
Source: ESENT
Event ID: 490
Event Time: 8/30/2007 7:07:23 AM
User: n/a
Computer: 4TH_84417
Description:
svchost (1096) An attempt to open the file
"C:\WINDOWS\system32\CatRoot2\edb.log" for read / write access failed with
system error 5 (0x00000005): "Access is denied. ". The open file operation
will fail with error -1032 (0xfffffbf8).

Looking into what is running in process 1096, svchost,

AudioSrv, Browser, CryptSvc, Dhcp, dmserver,
ERSvc, EventSystem, helpsvc, lanmanserver,
lanmanworkstation, Netman, Nla, RasMan,
Schedule, seclogon, SENS, SharedAccess,
ShellHWDetection, srservice, TapiSrv,
Themes, TrkWks, W32Time, winmgmt, wuauserv,
WZCSVC

I can't seem to figure out what might be trying to get access to this file
and not succeeding. Should I be worried at this point?

Kelly,

Thanks for the link. I happened to check it out before posting as that site
is pretty informative. From what I could see (and since I'm not a subscriber)
the solutions don't apply to my issue. It looks like the solutions had to do
with server-side Exchange issues and this is just an XP box.

Most welcome, Sandy.

There is much you can gain from there without being a member.)

More info for you from that site:

Good luck!

I'll keep looking and Googling the error. Hopefully someone out there has an
answer.
