Error with Outlook 2002 (SMTP)

Ken

I am trying to setup my notebook to download and send
email via yahoo while traveling.

I am currently at a hotel with a broadband connection in
the room.

I use POP access at home on my desktop without any
problems.

After following the setup instructions
(http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/mail/pop/pop-28.html) , I
can POP my account fine, (receive email). When I try and
send I get this error message back in the inbox from
the "System Administrator".

From: System Administrator
To: Name (email address)
Sent: (date+time)
Subject: Undeliverable: (subject)

553 sorry, your envelope sender is in my

I suspect I may have my windows/outlook setup wrong.
Please help!

.

Thanks for your help.
I am sorry it has taken some weeks since I posted the
original message. I have been on vacation with family and
had not had any time to get on line.

The link that you sent to the Microsoft knowledge base
article 140013 refers to a Windows 95/98 problem with the
Microsoft Exchange CompuServe client.

I failed to state that I was using Windows XP Home.

But, I had downloaded and installed the CompuServe 2000
software sometime in the past after I purchased my
notebook.

After reading the knowledge base article, I uninstalled
the CompuServe 2000 software and tried to pop my yahoo
again. At this point I had an error stating that my smtp
settings were incorrect. After re-entering the pop and
smtp settings again in outlook the original problem
returned.

I now believe the by installing the CompuServe 2000
software at some point in the past it has changed one or
more settings in my Office/Outlook 2002 (or maybe Windows
XP).

Any suggestions before I uninstall/reinstall
Office/Outlook?
