Hello.

I have a challenge with XP Pro and automatic updates. I disabled F@H, NAV,
desktop calendar, and left ZA running. Connection via ADSL router. XP Pro
has been working very well so far, I ran the auto updates due to the concern
of the latest virus. But so far, I have not been hit by any virus, worm,
etc.

Ran Windows updates, and scanned for updates which found 7 critical updates
required :
837009
832894
837001
828741
835732
832483
828035

After downloading and attempting to auto install the error message appeared
:

"The software you are installing has not passed Windows logo testing to
verify its compatibility with Windows XP. This software will not be
installed "

Happened to 837009, 832894, 832483 . I clicked on OK, and XP continued to
try to install the other critical updates.

At the end of the updates, XP reported that 837009, 832894, 832483 actually
HAD installed ok (despite the fail message) , and the others (837001,
828741, 835732) did not install correctly (with no error message during the
install).

A quick reboot later, another scan for updates and I'm back to where I
started from. XP reports that I still need 7 critical updates installed, and
they are the same ones supposedly installed before (but which failed the
Windows logo testing).

Now I am truely confused ! Nothing installed !

Hmm, any suggestions anyone ?
