Error Wile seting up Xp Pro- help please

a couple of days ago my system satarted to restart for no reason, trying to
stop this from hapening i tried reinstalling windows xp but when trying to
copy all the files on to the harddrive it says it is unable to copy most of
the files on the hardrive and i would have to keep my finger presses on Esc
for it to finish, at the end it would just say unalbe to complete setup etc
and i was wondering if anyone could please help me? iv tried reinstalling
windows several times now with no luck so is there any way around this? iv
even bought a new xp disk still with no luck it does not work. any help would
be very greatful

Boot to the XP setup CD, and press 'r' for recovery console, run the command : CHKDSK /R
