Error When Trying to Run Autorun.exe for Windows XP SP2 Installation

S

Sam

When initially trying to install windows XP SP2, I inserted the SP2 CD in
the Sony DRU 540A burner and used the Start/Run command for the
M:\autorun.exe install. It would not work because of an error message. I
then put the SP2 CD in the DVD-ROM (NEC 5800) and was able to successfully
run the autorun.exe command. I have not experienced this problem before. I
should note that I always shutdown NAV and ZAPlus before any software
installation. My computer is a Dell Dimension 8200 with windows XP Prof.
Any thoughts and suggestions regarding this problem would be very much
appreciated, Sam.

Hi,

You probably just need to run a CD lens cleaner on that drive. Any
commercially available one should do.
