error when trying to open site live

Hello,

An acquaintance has the following problem when he tries to open his website
live from the server:

He uses Frontpage 2002 and when trying to access his live website on one
computer, he has no problems whatsoever. When he follows the exact same
procedures on another computer, he gets an error message stating something
like (roughly translated from Dutch): "the server cannot comply with your
request; ask your ISP or network administrator if the FSE are installed".
After that, he gets an error message saying "404 not found; not found the
requested URL/_vti_bin/... was not found on this server".

The FSE can't really be the problem as they are installed on the server and
as he can access the site perfectly fine from another PC. Can someone help
us out?

He needs to check what is different in the network settings or firewalls between the 2 PCs

Thank you. I will check back with him and see what he tells me. I don't know
whether he has a network or firewall.

Hi,

I checked back with my acquaintance and he says he doesn't have a firewall
nor a network. He has one single computer that connects to the Internet. The
computer where the site CAN be opened is a school computer in a network with
a router, so I would expect a single PC to cause less trouble than a network
computer. Any more ideas?

Even single PCs need Network settings (TCP/IP set correctly)
FP uses port 80
- can he browse to the site in IE and run File Edit w/ FP

Again I will have to check with him and I won't see him before the end of
the week.

But let's assume that this might be the problem. How can he open up that
port?
