Error sound when logging off....

This is an intersting one:

When logging off of both of the user accounts on my XP Pro machine, I am
getting an error sound ('windows xp ding.wav' found in c:\windows\media if
you want to check the sound I mean) which suggests to me that something is
not quite right with the log off routine.

Does XP have any way of logging the log-off routine so I can check to see if
there is anything that needs my attention? My computer has not always done
this and it's starting to irritate me a little. My machine isn't
malfunctioning in any way and I'm pretty sure that this is just cosmetic, but
it's something that I want to check.

I hope someone out there can help me...

Big Liam :)

Your system's event viewer maintains a log of errors that occur on in XP. To
access it, click Start Menu --> Settings --> Control Panel -->
Administrative Tools --> Event Viewer. There are typically 3 logs contained
in that program: one for issues related to your programs, one for security
issues, and one that deals with system problems. Record the time you shut
off your system, and at next boot up, check the Application and System logs
to see what error messages are logged.
