Error on removing Downloader.AY (severe threat)

Can someone help me? I keep on trying to remove a threat called Downloader.AY
(trojan), and each time I select Remove All, I get an error message:
Windows Defender encountered an error: 0x800710dd. The operation identifier
is not valid.

On the Scan Results page, Windows Defender advises to remove this software
immediately, says it's using resources C:\Windows\system32\taskdir.dll

Try Ewido for Trojans.

Also run your antivirus (updated) in safe mode and try again in safemode
with WD.

i tried the ewido site and it wouldn't let me do the free scan. this virus
seems to be pretty persistent. i didn't have this problem until i downloaded
Windows Defender Beta2.
and the problem with knocking me to the antispylab website keeps happening
too.
