Error on Boot. No Disk in drive \Device\Harddisk3\DR10

Steve

I am receiving an error message every time I reboot my
PC. The error message reads "MCAGENT.EXE - No
Disk" "There is no disk in the drive" " Please insert a
disk into drive \Device\Harddisk3\DR10." There are three
choices "Cancel, Try Again, and Continue". If you cancel
or continue two times the machine boots and all programs
appear to be working properly.

I have read the knowledge base article which says that a
drive has been renamed. I have an E Machine D2586, with
one hard drive. There are several removable drives: DVD
RW, Compact Flash, Memory Stick, Multimedia, and Smart
Media labeled D through H. My hard drive is not renamed
and always remains C:. I have verified this through
management services.

I have uninstalled / reinstalled Mcafee several times.
It does not occur when Mcafee is uninstalled. It was
also happening with a different harddisk # when I had
Zone Alarm installed. I took Zone Alarm out to stop the
problem.

Why is this happening and what do I need to do to get it
to stop? I want to use Mcafee and Zone Alarm. I have
contacted tech support for Mcafee and they say it is not
a problem with their program.

Thank you, Steve

track down the mcagent entry using windows tools
services.msc or msconfig and review the path details.
Does it point to a vaild drive/folder?

I will. Thanks. It also happens on another (same model
PC) sometimes. It has happened even with FindFast.exe
